Hilary first heard Big Eyed Rabbit from banjo player, Matokie Slaughter. Mesmerized by the rhythmic intensity of Slaughter's playing, Hilary immediately wanted to try playing it with the Goats. The small amount of lyrics were somewhat hard to decipher from the scratchy recordings, which is typical of old, appalachian tunes. The lyrics below are Hilary's interpretation of what was heard.
